Odisha cops arrest youth for staging his abduction for ransom

Bhubaneswar: Less than a week after a youth was allegedly abducted from Sambalpur district, he was traced to capital city of Odisha.

The youth identified as Satya Sahu hails from Sahebi village under Naktideul police limits in Sambalpur district.

The youth had informed his family last Tuesday (Jan 31) that he has been kidnapped and the criminals have demanded a ransom of Rs 3 lakh to release him.

Following the incident, the family members lodged an FIR at Naktideul police station. With the help of mobile phone tracking, the cops were able to trace the youth’s location.

He was rescued from Bhubaneswar and has been arrested under relevant section of IPC for faking abduction.
