Odisha court defers hearing on bail plea of Seashore chief to Nov 27

Bhubaneswar, Nov 24:

The special chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court of CBI in the Odisha capital today postponed the bail plea hearing of Prashant Dash, the chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of Seashore group, a major player in the multi-crore chit fund scam in the state, to November 27.

Yesterday, Prashant Dash was sent to judicial custody till November 27 after he was produced before the court in the evening at the end of one day extended remand taken by CBI.

On November 22, the court had extended his CBI remand by a day. The court had earlier allowed the CBI to take him on a 13-day remand.

The District and Session Judge Court today also deferred the hearing on the bail plea of Shreekrushna Padhi, an accountant in the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group, to December 2.

The session court would hear the bail pleas of Mayurbhanj MP Ramchandra Hansdah, former BJD MLA Subarna Naik and former BJP MLA Hitesh Bagartti, who have been arrested by CBI for their alleged involvement in Nabadiganta Capital Services,on November 26.

The bail plea of BJD MLA from Banki Pravat Tripathy would be heard on November 27 in the district and Sessions Court.
