Odisha Diploma Engineers threaten stir

Bhubaneswar, Feb 5:

The Odisha Diploma Engineers’ Association today threatened to go on a statewide agitation if its demands are not met by February-end this year.

Briefing newsmen here, president of the Association Nirmal Swain said the Association has decided for a two-day sit-in dharna at Lower PMG Square near the State Assembly on February 18 and 19.

“We will submit a memorandum to the chief minister requesting him to fulfil the demands of the Association by February failing which we would begin indefinite ceasework,” he said.

Swain also said that the Association will have an executive body meeting and take a call on going for a general strike in which 8000 diploma engineers would participate.
