Odisha Government gives nod to 14 new proposals ahead of polls

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has given its nod to a slew of proposals, ahead of implementation of model code of conduct for the 2024 elections.

Total 14 proposals from seven departments were approved at the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar today.

Here are the proposals that received a go-ahead by the Government:

  1. Exemption of Rs 5,06,00,000 premium  for lease of Government land measuring 500 decimal at Chandrasekharpur Mouza in favour of Utkal Yadav Mahasabha for the construction of Yadav Bhawan.
  2. Remission of Rs 31,32,11,502.85/- stamp duty and registration fees on the sub-lease deed land of 856.360 acre to be executed in favour of Talche Fertiliser Ltd
  3. Approval of ‘Command Area Development and Water Management (CADWM) version 2.0 under which new field channels of 2,400 km will be constructed over 80,000 hectare. It will also include 1,50,000 hectare of topographical survey and planning. The project is estimated at Rs 763.47 crore for a period of five years (2024-25 to 2028-29)
  4. Approval of scheme ‘Re-construction of Old Field Channel Works in Irrigated Commands’ (version 2.0) with an outlay of Rs 574.74 crore for five years
  5. Approval to OPTCL’s proposal to take up 21 new and upgradation transmission projects under Phase II of Odisha Transmission System Strengthening Programme (OTSSP). The outlay of the proposal stands at Rs 1845.76 crore for five years with 30 per cent equity support from the State government.
  6. Licensed stamp vendors engaged as Authorised Collection Centre under e-stamping to get commission of 0.85 pc by the State Government on collection of stamp duty above and over the commission provided by the Stock Holding Corporation on issue of e-stamp papers.
  7. Approval for construction of H.L bridge over river Mahanadi  at Brahman-Kanda-Sahukheta road in Cuttack’s Salepur block  to provide inter-link connectivity between Cuttack-Paradeep Road to Cuttack-Chandbali Road at outlay of Rs 128.71 crore  to be completed within three years.
  8. Consent to consider Census of 2001 instead of Census 2011 to assess Educationally Backward Districts  for Odisha (Non-Government Colleges, Junior Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools) grants in-aid order 2014. This will entail additional annual financial  implication of Rs 5.15 crore.
  9. Approval to proposed restructuring of Odisha Veterinary Technical Services Cadre
  10. Formation of Odisha Information and Public Relations Technical Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service )Rules, 2024.
  11. Approval to proposed sanction of lease renewal of Khasmahal land measuring Ac 20.808 dec in Mouza unit n 10, cantonment in Cuttack tehsil for a period of 40 years from 04.09.1989 in favour of Odisha Olympic Association.
  12. Approval to sanction of lease of Ac 2.50 dec. of government land in Mouza unit 29 Chaluiaganj of Cuttack sadar tehsil in favour of DAV SCB Medical Public School Cuttack, for new school building and waiver of all govt dues including interest thereon for the entire period of occupation in respect of Ac.1.80 dec of government land at Mangalabag Mouza in Cuttack on which the old SCB Medical Public School stood.
  13. Waiver of Rs 93,46,56,410 towards premium, incidental charges, capitalised value of land revenue and interest thereon payable by Govt of India in respect of govt land measuring Ac 39.37 dec in Mouza Talagada and Bentakarapada under Barang tehsil of Cuttack, for relocation of Central Poultry Development Organisation, Eastern Region (CPDO-ER_, Bhubaneswar.
  14. Upgradation of 40 per cent of posts of Amins and ARIs  and creation of post of Amin, Level -II and above ARI , the post of ARI Level -II in Level-7 of the Pay Matrix.
