Odisha govt cuts bus fares across all categories

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today cut bus fares across all categories following decline in diesel prices in the State.

As per a notification issued by the State Transport Commissioner’s office, due to decrease in price from Rs 68.32 per litre as on March 6, 2020 to Rs 66.69 per litre as on March 21, 2020, the bus fares has been reduced.

Bus fare hiked in Odisha again in less than 20 days

The notification further said the fare for stage carriages other than town buses plying within the State of Odisha shall be fixed at decreased rate.

For ordinary buses the fare has been decreased to 67 paise/km from existing fare of 68 paise/km. Express and Deluxe bus fares have been reduced to 70 paise/km and 95 paise/km from 71 paise/km and 97 paise/km respectively.

The fare for AC Deluxe has been decreased to 117 paise/km from 119 paise/km.

As per the automatic fare revision mechanism, the State government reduced the bus fares after fall in diesel prices.
