Venugopal new Home secy in major reshuffle of top Odisha IAS cadre

The Odisha government today effected a major reshuffle in the IAS officers’ cadre.

According to a General Administration department notification, 1988 batch IAS CJ Venugopal has been appointed principal secretary, Home, while 1986 batch IAS Suresh Mohapatra has been appointed principal secretary, Energy with additional charge of officer on special duty (OSD) of Shri Jagannath temple.

Rajesh Verma (1987 batch) has been given additional charge of Cooperation.

Among others, 1988 batch IAS Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra has been posted as principal secretary, Rural Development with additional charge of special relief commissioner (SRC) and chairman, Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC).

1989 batch officer Pradeep Kumar Jena is the new principal secretary, Water Resources and Arti  Ahuja (1990 batch) the new commissioner-cum secretary, Health and Family Welfare.

1991 batch IAS and secretary, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Madhusudan Padhi has been given additional charge of Information and Public Relations.

The other appointments are as follows:

—Sanjay Rastogi (1991 batch)- commissioner-cum-secretary, Commerce and Transport.
—Surendra Kumar (1993 batch)- commissioner-cum-secretary, ST & SC Development along with Science and Technology.
—G Mathivathanan (1994 batch)- commissioner-cum-secretary, Housing & Urban Development, Parliamentary Affairs and chairman, IPICOL
—Chithra Arumugam (1995 batch)- commissioner-cum-secretary, Textiles & Handloom.
—Saswat Mishra (1996 batch)- commissioner-cum-secretary, Women & Child Development along with Sports & Youth Services
—Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra (1997 batch)- commissioner-cum-secretary, Information Technology and CEO, Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC).
—Bishnupada Sethi (1995 batch) CMD, OMFED.
—SN Girish (2002 batch)- Managing director, OMC.

The government also made a reshuffle at the collector’s level by posting 2007 batch IAS officer Aravind Agarwal as collector, Puri; 2008 batch Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar as collector, Deogarh; 2008 batch B Parameswarn as collector, Jharsuguda; Nirmal Mishra as collector, Cuttack and Dhiren Patnaik as collector, Baleswar, the notification said.
