Odisha House Committee on Submissions visits Dhamra Port

A 14-member House Committee on Submissions of the Odisha Assembly, led by its Chairman Pravat Ranjan Biswal, MLA of Cuttack Sadar, today visited the Dhamrai Temple and urged the local MLAs and DPCL to take up certain beautification work in and around the temple.

The chairman of the committee enquired about certain irregularities alleged in the management of accounts of the Fisherman Management Society during their visit to the fishing harbour and asked the Fisheries Department officials to produce necessary documents for verification.

Before leaving for Basudevpur and Nilagiri, the committee members also visited Dhamra Port to see the port operations and mechanized cargo handling facilities.

On the first day of its two-day tour to Dhamra on Wednesday, the committee held a review meeting on various developmental projects of Bhadrak district at the circuit house. They also visited the Dhamra Port in the evening and reviewed the local recruitment process and CSR activities undertaken by Dhamra Port.

Director of Dhamra Port Corporation Ltd (DPCL) Santosh Kumar Mohapatra gave a presentation to the visiting MLAs on the progress of the Port and various periphery development activities done by it for the local communities.

Two MLAs of Bhadrak district, Byomkesh Ray, MLA of Chandbali and Muktikanta Mandal, MLA Dhamnagar were among other members of the House Committee led by Biswal.
