Congress workers allegedly pelted eggs at Law Minister Arun Sahu while he was on his way from the Town Hall here after launching the National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the district.

The agitators were demanding government college status to the Sardar Rajas Medical College at Jaring in Kalahandi district.

Over 100 Congress workers were arrested from near Manikeswari temple here, reports said.

On the other hand, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Pension and Public Grievance Minister Jogendra Behera also had to face stiff opposition from Congress workers over deteriorating health infrastructure in the Nudapda district. They alleged that the people are deprived of health facilities due to absence of doctors in the government-run hospitals. Besides, they also blocked minister’s vehicle for neglecting the drought-like situation in the district.
