Odisha leaders condole demise of MLA Pradeep Maharathy

Bhubaneswar: Politicians cutting across party lines expressed grief over the demise of Pipili MLA and BJD leader Pradeep Maharathy.

Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal described Maharathy as a popular leader and able legislator. He conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family and constituents.

Hon’ble Governor condoles the sad demise of Hon’ble MLA & Ex Minister Pradeep Maharathy and conveys his deep sympathy to the bereaved family and constituents. “He was a popular leader & able legislator, his untimely death is a big loss to the polity”, the Governor added. 🙏🙏

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled the passing away of the veteran leader. He described Maharathy as a stalwart of the Biju Janata Dal and a long time associate of Biju Babu. He was a true leader of people, Patnaik said.

The CM conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family and the people of Pipili. The mortal remains of Maharathy will be cremated with full state honours.

Leaders of BJD and other political parties also grieved the death of Maharathy.

Maharathy breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here late last night. He was admitted to the hospital after he tested positive for COVID-19 on September 14.
