Odisha man gets 20 years in jail for raping minor girl

Nuapada: A Special POCSO court here yesterday sentenced a man to 20 years imprisonment for raping a minor girl in Odisha’s Nuapada district.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on convict Duryodhan Majhi (24) of Chanamunda village under Nuapada police limits.

According to reports, a case was registered against Majhi for raping a minor girl in December, 2018. It was alleged that Majhi took the girl to a forest on a motorcycle and raped her.

Adjudicating the case, the court held him guilty awarded the punishment.
