Odisha: Nine ZP members of BJP join BJD

Bhubaneswar: Hours after an MLA candidate of the BJP joined the Biju Janata Dal, as many as nine Bargarh Zilla Parishad (ZP) members of the saffron party got inducted into the BJD today.

They joined the conch party in the presence of Bargarh district BJD president Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha. Expressing resentment, the nine ZP members had yesterday resigned from the BJP.

The development comes as a double jolt for the BJP as earlier in the day, Bhagirathi Sethi, party’s candidate for Anandpur assembly constituency, had joined the BJD.
