Odisha officials value Trahi Achyuta ashram at Rs 20.66 cr

Officials of the Odisha government have evaluated the Trahi Achyuta Ashram in Jhinti Sasan located on the outskirts of the city at Rs 20.66 crore, said sources at Crime Branch headquarters in Cuttack today.

The valuation of the ashram was done jointly by Crime Branch (CB), Works and Archaeology departments officials who had been measuring the Ashram since a week.

The ashram’s valuation includes the temple, Pothighara and cow protection centre or ‘Gosala’.

So far, the state investigating agency has unearthed at least 91 acres of land at various places in the state and outside belonging to disgraced, self-styled godman Sura Baba alias Surendra Mishra, his family and Trahi Achyuta Ashram Trust headed by him. The list of property and land encroached by baba might become longer in the days to come, CB sources added.

Earlier, 82 acres of land was traced by the CB, of which 37 acres was identified in the name of Trahi Achyuta Ashram while 45 acres belong to Sura Baba and family. Trilochan Mishra, Sura Baba’s elder son, owns 28 out of the 45 acres of land held by his family, crime branch sources said.

Information about this huge landed property owned by the Baba was extracted from Trilochan during his interrogation while he was in Crime Branch remand for three days till September 10.

Meanwhile, the Khordha district administration has cleared encroachment of Trahi Achyuta ashram spread across 1.5 acres at Ghangapatna in Chandaka located on the city outskirts today. Four houses and a yagna mandap built on the encroached land have been demolished.
