Odisha police arrest six in Puri DHH ransacking case

Puri, Aug 19:

The Kumbharpada police today arrested six persons for their alleged involvement in ransacking the district headquarters hospital (DHH) after death of a patient on Wednesday night, informed Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi.

The six persons were arrested on the basis of CCTV footage, the SP said.

Notably, one Nabakishore Jena of Batagaon was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night as he complained of chest pain. Though doctors declared him brought dead, the family members of the deceased alleged that he died due to negligence in treatment at the hospital.

The irate kins of Jena had ransacked the hospital by smashing chairs, tables, computers, ACs, lights, oxygen cylinder and allegedly manhandled the doctors.
