Odisha Prof accused of sexual assault forwarded to court

Prof Minaketan Sahu, the Law department professor in Sambalur University in Odisha who was arrested by the police yesterday on charges of sexaully assaulting a student, was today forwarded to the court.

“We had detained the professor yesterday and arrested him later after we found prime facie evidence against him after talking to other students present at the spot on the day of the incident. We have forwarded him to court today,” additional superintendent of police (ASP) Sushil Kumar Panigrahi said today.

Meanwhile, the accused professor has denied the charges against him saying they were false and concocted. “The allegation against me is completely false and fabricated. I will file a defamation suit. I will present the facts before the court and hope to get justice,” Prof Sahu said.
