Odisha reports highest single day spike of 103 COVID-19 cases; tally at 1438

Bhubaneswar: As many as 103 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the total count to 1438, the Government informed today. With this, the state recorded the highest single day spike of COVID-19 cases.

The fresh cases are from Deogarh (22), Kendrapara (15), Jagatsinghpur (10), Malkangiri (9), Bhadrak (8), Balangir (8), Gajapati (6), Koraput (6), Balasore (5), Khordha (5), Ganjam (4), Jajpur (1), Kandhamal (1), Dhenkanal (1), Mayurbhanj (1) and Keonjhar (1).

Of the 103 new patients, 96 have been reported from various quarantine centres across the state.

With this, the total number of active cases on the state rose to 881. While 550 patients have recovered, seven persons succumbed to the virus so far.  The virus has spread to 27 out of the 30 districts in the state so far.

Total  3942 sample were tested in the last 24 hours. So far 1,27,776   sample have been tested in the state.
