Odisha villagers club leopard to death

Villagers of Tikayatpur village under Dukura range of Baripada Forest Division in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district clubbed to death a leopard that had strayed into the village from Kuldhia forest this morning, said an officer of the Forest department.

Divisional Forest Officer, Baripada Sanjay Kumar Swain said the four-year-old cat ran for shelter while people pelted stones at it finally killing it.

The villagers used a net to capture the fleeing animal before clubbing it to death, he said.
