One killed, four hurt in group clash in Odisha

Rayagada, Feb 12:

A tribal, who was grievously injured in a group clash in a village in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Tuesday, succumbed to his injuries at the district headquarters hospital this morning.

Body of Tudu SikakaThe incident took place on the last day of the weeklong Meria festival at Gotiguda village of Munikhol panchayat under Muniguda block when the tribals of Gotiguda and Golaguda villages had an altercation during the sacrifice of domestic animals at the altar site.

Later, it took a violent turn as the tribals of both the villages attacked each other with sharp weapons in which five persons were injured of whom Mana Sikaka and Tudu Sikaka of Golaguda village were rushed to the district headquarters hospital where Tudu succumbed to his injuries early this morning.

As informed by the IIC of Muniguda police station Siba Prasad Das, police have not received any complaint from the family members of the deceased.

“The body of the deceased has been sent for post mortem,” he added.
