OTET begins in Odisha

Cuttack, Aug 10: The Odisha Teachers’ Eligibility Test (OTET)-2014, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), began in Odisha this morning.

Nearly 90,000 candidates are appearing the test at 199 centres in the state, reports said.

The test is held for candidates aspiring to become teachers in primary and upper primary schools in the state.

OTET is a compulsory examination for all B.Ed qualified candidates to be considered for teacher’s jobs in schools run by the government and private managements.

It may be mentioned that the BSE had earlier scheduled the test on July 20.

However, it had to postpone the test to August 10 following re-checking of Matric examination papers following allegations by the students who had complained poor marks.
