OUAT to reopen on April 21

The Academic Council of the Odisha University of Agriculture Technology (OUAT) lifted the sine die closure order on the Agriculture and Veterinary College at a meeting here on Tuesday.OUAT

Briefing newsmen after the meeting, OUAT vice chancellor Prof Manoranjan Kar said as decided, the College would be reopened with regular classes with effect from April 21.

The students will be allowed to return to their hostels on April 20, he added.

The University authorities had declared the college closed sine die on March 26 after a weeklong unrest in the campus following a clash between two groups over an eve-teasing incident.

The University authorities have also extended the date of application for entrance examinations from April 17 to April 19.

The entrance exams, scheduled on May 25 would be held for a total of 608 seats in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agro Engineering, Fisheries, Forestry and Home Science streams, the vice-chancellor said.
