Over 45k ineligible beneficiaries identified under KALIA: Odisha Minister

Bhubaneswar: As many as 45,965 farmers out of total beneficiaries under KALIA scheme have been identified as ineligible, informed Agriculture Minister Arun Sahoo in Odisha Assembly today.

Replying to a question in winter session of Assembly, the minister said that the maximum cases were reported from Kalahandi district. Deogarh districts is at the bottom of the list of ineligible KALIA beneficiaries.

The government has disbursed Rs 2552.64 crore to 51,05,290 eligible farmers under the scheme in first phase in Odisha.

Under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme, farmers get Rs 5,000 financial assistance per crop. A farm household is entitled to get Rs 10,000 per year for two crops both Kharif and Rabi.
