According to reports, over 500  acres of farming land of Satabhaya and nearby villages under Rajnagar block in the district have been affected following a breach in Baunshagada-Satabhaya bridge yesterday.

“It is for the first time we witnessed that sea water has entered into the Maa Panchubarahi Temple which had never happened before,” said a villager.

Saline water is flowing into the territory at another place through a breach that had occurred at Barahipur village under Satabhaya panchayat last year.

Notably, repair work of the Baunshagada-Satabhaya bridge was conducted two years back by the Tatabandha department.
