PM, CMs to receive COVID vaccine in phase II

Bhubaneswar: With the massive vaccination programme launched in India against COVID-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all Chief Ministers will receive shots in second phase of the immunisation drive in the country.

The PM, all CMs and senior political leaders will be vaccinated in the second phase of the COVID inoculation programme launched last week, the said the NDTV quoting sources today.

Besides, all parliamentarians and legislators who are above 50 years of age will also get the shots of COVID vaccines.

According to reports, people above 50 and with comorbities will be shortlisted to take shots.

The nationwide COVID vaccination drive was launched on January 16 with healthcare and frontline workers in battle against Coronavirus. The beneficiaries are receiving jabs of two vaccines — Serum Institute of India’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin.

As many as 3 crore healthcare workers will be vaccinated across the country in first phase of the drive.
