Postmaster murdered in Odisha’s Malkangiri, Maoist involvement suspected

Malkangiri: A postmaster was allegedly murdered by a group of armed miscreants at Kamalapadar village under Chitrakonda police limits in Odisha’s Malkangiri district last night.

The deceased has been identified as Narayan Polasi, postmaster of Papuluru sub-post office here. It is suspected that Maoists committed the crime branding him as a police informer.

According to reports, 10-15 armed persons arrived in the village around 11 pm. They later took the postmaster with them and allegedly killed him by slitting his throat at a praja court.
