Rains may not visit Odisha until June 14

The hope of rains offering some relief to the people in Odisha from the extended heat wave appears a shade remote.

weather1The ongoing weather condition in Odisha would remain unchanged in the next three days, the local Met office said in a release this evening.

Meanwhile, heat wave persisted across most of the western Odisha districts today with Titlagarh topping the chart with 44 degree Celsius, followed by Hirakud and Sambalpur (43.6 each), Jharsuguda (43.5), Sonepur (42.8), Malkangiri (42.2), Bhawanipatna (41.7), Bolangir (41) and Talcher (40).

The situation in coastal Odisha was hardly any better with the maximum average humidity touching 85 percent.
