RN Senapati new SEC of Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Aug 15:

Retired IAS officer and commissioner of State Cooperative Election Commission RN Senapati has been appointed as the State Election Commissioner (SEC) of Odisha.

rm senapatiA notification to this effect was issued by the General Administration department last evening.

“Though the tenure of the present SEC Ajit Kumar Tripathy is yet to be complete, the state government decided to replace him as he attained 65 years today,” said Panchayati Raj minister Arun Sahu.

Tripathy had taken charge as SEC on September 10, 2009.

Sources in the SEC office said Senapati is likely take charge of his new assignment on August 19.

A 1977 batch IAS officer, Senapati had retired in November, 2012 as Development Commissioner. Later, he was appointed as the commissioner of State Cooperative Election Commission in February, 2013.
