Security guard averts ATM loot in Odisha’s Keonjhar, rewarded by police

Keonjhar: In an exemplary act of bravery, a security guard’s effort prevented a certain ATM loot at Padmapur under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district late last night.

The security guard was felicitated and rewarded by Keonjhar police with Rs 2,000.

According to reports, 5-6 unidentified miscreants damaged an ATM of SBI at Padmapur here in a bid to loot cash from the machine.

In the meantime, the security guard opposed the act for which the robbers nabbed him. However, he managed to raise an alarm, following which locals rushed to the spot.

The miscreants then fled the spot without being able to commit loot. On being informed, police reached the spot and started investigation.
