Think Literature Festival in Odisha capital on Nov 29

Think Literature Festival -2014 will be held in the Odisha capital on November 29.

The festival will five sessions, apart from two special ones: the inaugural session at 10 am and the Play by FTII students at 7 pm. Manoj Das , noted Odia author, will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural session on the theme – ‘The Quest Eternal & Literature Today’ and Dharmendra Pradhan, Union ministerfor Petroleum & Natural Gas will deliver the iaugural address.

The first session will be on ‘Feminism: An Imported Ideology or A Universal Tool to Combat Discrimination’. Madhu Kishwar, Manju Kak, Pratibha Ray and Yashodhara Mishra will be the panelists in the session which would be moderated by Prof. Harish Trivedi.

In the second session, Maroof Raza, the consulting editor of Times Now, will address ‘Does the road to peace in the region, run through Kashmir?

The third session will focus on growth and development of Odia language.  Eminent authors and thinkers such as Sitakant Mahapatra, J.P.Das, Soubhagya Mishra, Debiprasad Mishra,Tathagat Satpathy,Pratibha Satapathy and Sarat Misra will be part of it.

Anant Mohapatra, Ramendra Kumar, Haraprasad Das, Satyarth Nayak, Vikram Sampath and Paramita Satapthy will discuss the all encompassing vision that life offers beyond literature in the fourth session.

Professor Himanshu Mohapatra of Utkal University will present excerpts from Shakespeare to the French philosopher Sartre in a theatrical style in the fifth session.

‘The Metamorphosis’ by Franz Kafka, translated by Prof. S.P. Das, ‘The Death of Ivan Ilyich’ by Leo Tolstoy translated by Prof. Rabindra Nayak and “Mora Purba Smruti Katha” by Bharat Chandra Nayak will also be released on this occasion.
