Three Maoist cadres surrender in Odisha’s Steel City

Three Maoist  cadres  surrendered  before police in Rourkela, Odisha’s Steel City, on Friday morning.

DSCN2606 (1)They have been identified as Joseph Munda (35) and Sipren Munda b(31), both of them natives of Sanbalichor under K.Balang police station of Sundargarh district and Panalal Bhakta (17), a native of Tirlakuch under Gurundia police station of Sundargarh district.

Addressing a press conference here this morning, additoitional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Rourkela Subhash Chandra Jamadar said the three Maoists decided to surrender as they were dislillusioned about the ideology the party.

“All the three Maoists, who have surrendered before us on Friday, will be provided necessary support as per the provision of surrender policy of the state government,” the ASP said.

All the three cadres had joined the Maoist organisation in the year 2009. Joseph Munda was involved in a murder case and landmine blast while Sipren Munda and Panalal Bhakta were also involved in many acts of violence. Panalal Bhakta also cooked food for party members, Jamadar said.
