Thunderstorm with lightning very likely in 23 Odisha districts on August 25; check details

Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent monsoon trough and a low pressure area, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in at least 23 districts of Odisha during next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, IMD regional centre said, “The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Firozpur, Karnal, Meerut, Azamgarh, Patna, Deoghar, Diamond Harbour and thence southeastwards to eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.”

The highest maximum temperature of 35.2oC was recorded at Paralekhamundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 23.5oC was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bolangir, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Ganjam and Puri.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh and Keonjhar. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Khurda and Puri.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara.
