Triple murder in Odisha capital: Police take prime accused on two-day remand

Bhubaneswar, Jan 31:
The court of the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) today allowed the Commissionerate police to take Shiva Prasad Panda alias Bhabani, prime accused in the triple murder in a slum in Bharatpur area on the outskirts of the Odisha capital on January 27, on a two-day remand for interrogation.

Following the permission of the court, the police later took Bhabani from the Jharpada jail here for interrogation, reports said.
It may be mentioned that the Commissionerate Police on Friday had sought permission from the court to Bhabani on a five-day remand.
During the two-day remand, police would take him to the crime spot to recreate the sequence of events leading to the crime he had executed on January 27.
Besides, police will also try to trace the weapon of offence, the axe he had used to kill the three and the blood stained dress of the accused to make their case stronger in the court.
