Two more cases against ex-Odisha MLA Ramesh Jena

Cases against former Sanakhemundi legislator Ramesh Jena are piling up as Odisha police today registered two more cases of land grab and extortion against him.

The cases were registered at Patapur and Sadar Police Station in Ganjam district.

According to reports, the arrested former Congress MLA was allegedly demanding extortion money from a poultry farm owner at Padmapur here. The complainant lodged a case with the Patapur police station.

On the other hand, the second case was registered at Sadar Police Station against Jena in connection with alleged land grab at Nimakhandi area here.

It may be mentioned here that Berhampur police today filed a petition in the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here seeking seven more day’s remand of Santosh Behera, an aide of Ramesh Jena, for further interrogation after his remand ended today.

Santosh was arrested by Twin City Commissionerate police from the capital city on dacoity charges with three other associates.
