Two cousins drown in pond in Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Tragedy struck a family of Salimarikunda village under Kalimela block in Malkangiri district after two children, who happened to be cousins, drowned while taking bath in a pond in the locality.

The deceased duo has been identified as Bibek Madakami (6) and his maternal cousin Rame Padiami (5).

Sources said the two kids slipped into deep water and later drowned while taking bath in a village pond at around 10 am today. Later, their family members started searching for them and found them floating in the pond. Though the kids were rushed to hospital, they died midway.
