Two former Co-Op bank staff held for fraud in Odisha

Angul: Two former employees of Angul United Central Cooperative Bank were today arrested by the Economic Offences Wing of Odisha Crime Branch.

The accused identified as Sahadev Sahu, former accountant and Santanu Kumar Baral, former banking assistant were arrested for their alleged involvement in misappropriation of Rs 1.15 crore in 2015-16.

After a formal complaint by the bank authorities on April 30, police had launched a manhunt to nab the accused.

As per police, the accused with the help of two other bank staff had transferred money to as many as 65 accounts through 187 transactions.
