Two killed, 12 injured as vehicle carrying marriage party falls off bridge in Odisha’s Koraput

Koraput: In a tragic incident, at least two persons were killed and 12 others sustained injuries as a pickup van carrying a marriage party fell off a bridge at Khatalapadar under Kundura block of Odisha’s Koraput district, today.

As per reports, the ill-fated vehicle was carrying around 40 persons from Dhalapur under Boipariguda block of the district to Nuagaon under Borigumma block in the district.

The driver of the van lost control over the wheels, as a result of which the vehicle fell off the bridge, killing the two persons.

On being informed about the mishap, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the victims.

Condition of three of the injured ones was stated to be critical. They were admitted to the Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital here for treatment.

Others were being treated at Kundura Hospital.
