Unable to bear loss of Puneeth Rajkumar, fan ends life

Bengaluru: With the film industries across the country were shocked over sudden demise of Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, one of his fans ended life.

Unable to bear the loss of his beloved actor, one youth identified as Rahul Gadivaddara hanged himself at his residence in Athani of Belagavi district on Friday.

According to reports, the 22-year-old man took the extreme step after garlanding his favourite star Puneeth’s photograph.

Millions of fans across Karnataka and neighbouring states have started visiting Bengaluru since Friday to bid final adieu to their actor.

In view of influx of fans, police tightened the security to control the crowd.

The body of Puneeth Rajkumar has been kept at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru for his fans to pay their last respects. Reserve police platoons from other parts of the State have been deployed at the stadium as more and more people are pouring in to bid farewell to the departed actor.

Puneeth Rajkumar passed away following a massive heart attack yesterday.

Family sources said that the 46-year-old actor suffered heart attack while he was working out in a gym.

Puneeth was rushed to the Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru after his condition deteriorated at a clinic. However, the efforts of doctors went in vain as he succumbed to the cardiac arrest.

A few hours before the incident, he had wished his brother Shiva Rajkumar and entire unit of his newly released film yesterday.

Puneeth will be given full state honour, according to media reports.
