[WATCH] India’s largest hockey stadium taking shape in Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: Ahead of the Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023, the India’s largest hockey stadium is taking shape in Odisha’s Rourkela. Named after young freedom fighter and tribal leader, Birsa Munda, work of the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium has going on in full swing.

In February 2021, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid foundation stone of the hockey stadium and named it after Birsa Munda.

The hockey stadium will have a seating capacity of 20,000. It will have world-class facilities and spectacular fan park, and provide best sporting experience for players and viewers.

The Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium will co-host the Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 along with Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

The ongoing work of the hockey stadium has been targetted to be completed by June 2022.
