Sundargarh: Setting an example for bureaucrats in terms of public service, Sundargarh Collector Surendra Kumar Meena yesterday reached a remote village in the district by riding pillion and took stock of implementation of development schemes in the locality.

Accompanied by officials of the district administration and a police officer, the Collector took a motorcycle ride to Karuadera, a hamlet which lacks proper road connectivity, electricity, drinking water supply and rural housing coverage.

After being apprised about the issues of the locality, Meena directed for construction of road, installation of two solar-powered pump sets and digging of two wells. The official also interacted with the locals about implementation of various welfare schemes in the village.
