Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 8839 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours as the tally in the state reached 790970. A total of 70178 samples were tested, yesterday.
Khurda district registered highest 1235 new infections, followed by Cuttack (769) and Mayurbhanj (583). With this, the number of active cases in Odisha reached 85423.
The state also reported its highest single-day COVID-19 toll as 42 more persons died of the disease. The overall toll mounted to 2873.
