Youth arrested for raping, killing woman in Odisha’s Kandhamal

The Baliguda police have arrested a person for allegedly killing a woman after raping her at Mahabelu Ghat in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.

The accused has been identified as Pilat Baliarsingh, a resident of Baudangia village here.

According to reports, Baliarsingh had committed the crime on September 19 when the woman was passing through the ghat alone. He allegedly raped the woman and later killed her.

Baliarsingh also looted the woman’s ornaments after her death.

After a complaint was lodged in this regard, Baliguda police registered a case and arrested the accused three days after the incident.
