Youth, freind arrested in Odisha capital for assaulting, threatening girl

Commissionerate police today arrested two persons – a 26-year-old youth and his partner in crime – for allegedly assaulting and threatening a girl of their locality.

Khandagiri police sources said Manoj Dalai of Baramunda forced a girl Gitanjali Swain, with whom he had a one side love affair, to marry him. When she refused, the former, along with his associate Santosh Nayak, assaulted the girl.

The two accused also threatened to end her life. Gitanjali then lodged a complaint with the local police station. A case has been registered in this regard by the police.

Acting on the complaint, police today arrested the duo and forwarded them to a local court here today.
