Youth shot dead over suspected tender fixing

Jajpur, Mar 4:
A 32-year old youth was shot dead on Monday by two unknown assailants at Padmanabhpur on the Chandikhole-Paradeep Express Highway under Badachana police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
The man has been identified as Prakash Sethy of Rajnagar area in neighbouring Kendrapara district, police said.
Police said the incident took place last evening while the victim was travelling on his motorcycle to his native place from Chandikhole along with his friend.
Two unidentified assailants on a bike fired at Sethy from a close range at Padmanabhpur along the express highway and fled away. Sethy fell from his bike and was rushed to the nearby government hospital.
Sethy who was later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt in the locality to nab the killers. Reports said tender fixing is suspected to be the reason behind the murder.
