Zilla Parishad VC moves OHRC alleges abuse by Rairangpur MLA

Mayurbhanj district Zilla Parishad Vice-Chairperson moved the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) alleging harassment by Rairangpur MLA Saiba Sushil Kumar Hansdah and his associates.

As per the complaint, during the inauguration of the Aahar program on April 14, Hansdah and his two associates verbally, mentally and physically harassed her.

She has also alleged that the accused had threatened to harm her family.

“They kicked me and hit me with a stick. Worse, they also pulled my saree and hair. Then they threatened to set my vehicle on fire and kill my family,” said she said in a press conference, later.

She alleged that even after she had filed a police complaint against the accused and met the SP not action was taken against the sitting MLA.

“For the last two years the local MLA  has been harassing me. They are not helping me in any development projects and have even forced me to sign blank papers”, she added.

She has appealed for immediate investigation of her complaint and asked for police protection.
