10 parks to be opened from today in Cyclone FANI-hit Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A week after massive devastation by the Cyclone FANI, as many as 10 parks will be opened from today for the public here in the city.

Out of 57 parks under Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), ten included Biju Patnaik Park, Indira Gandhi Park, Budhha Jayanti Park, Mahatma Gandhi Park, Kelucharan Mohapatra Park, Kharavela Park, Madhusudan Park, Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Park, K-8 Kalinga Nagar Park, Shyamprasad Mukherjee Park will be functional from today.

According to reports, as the restoration work in these parks is almost complete, the BDA authorities decided to open those for the visitors.

“The employees were working on war footing level at Biju Patnaik Park in the past two days. The debris has been cleared from the park. The BDA has engaged 10 JCBs and 200 staff for restoration of the parks that have been destroyed by the Cyclone FANI, a senior BDA official said.

Notably, there are 120 parks in Bhubaneswar, out of which 57 are being maintained by the BDA and 63 by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
