11 Odisha teachers receive President’s Award

New Delhi, Sep 6:

Eleven teachers of Odisha received the National Teachers’ Award-2014 from President Pranab Mukherjee in a glittering function at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on the occasion of Teachers’ Day on Saturday.

President AwardSeven Primary School teachers, three Secondary School teachers and a teacher of Special Class (Primary) category received the award which carries a silver plaque, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each.

The seven Primary School teachers who received the President’s Award are: Khurshida Begum (Mangalpur Primary School, Dhenkanal), Minati Kumari Patnaik (Dadhisingh Primary School, Dhenkanal), Sanjubala Mishra (Nayahaat Project Primary School, Cuttack), Sudhanshu Kumar Das (UGUP School, Dosia, Kendrapara), Kabita Deb (Nandankanan UGUP School, Khordha) and Swarnalata Sarangi (Banamalipur UGME School, Cuttack).

The three Secondary School teachers who received the award are: Jhaseketan Purohit (Kedarnath High School, Bargarh), Bhagabata Panda (Lady Hamilton New Govt Girls’ High School, Mayurbhanj) and Simanchal Pati (Gajapati Zilla Govt High School, Gajapati).

In the Special Class (Primary) category, Dr Bimal Prasad Patnaik of Chancharapalli Govt Primary School of Ganjam district received the President’s Award.
