5 killed in cyclone-related accidents

Five persons including two women were killed today in cyclone related accidents today, said a highly reliable source which did not want to be identified.

An 80 year old woman was killed in Raghunathpur in Jagatsinghpur district when the wall of her house collapsed due to incessant heavy rains over the last 24 hours. In Balikuda in the same district a 35 year old man was killed when a tree was uprooted by strong winds fell on him.

In the Barmunda area in Bhubaneswar a 40 year old woman who was out to pluck flowers for puja was crushed to death by an uprooted tree.

Sources in Berhampur say one person was killed in Khallikote when an uprooted tree fell on him. A similar case of death has been reported from the district, sources said.
