9 judicial inquiry panels formed in Odisha in past 10 years

Bhubaneswar: The Home department of Odisha government has set up nine judicial panels so far in the past 10 years for probe into various cases.

In a written reply to Congress leader Narasingha Mishra, Home (MoS) Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra said that the government has set up 9 judicial commission of inquiries from the year 2010 onwards.

Giving details about the panels, the minister informed the House that the judicial panels were formed for investigation into the cases including police firing at Gumudumaha village, SUM Hospital fire mishap and Puri Jagannath Temple Ratna Bhandar missing keys.

The data showed that the government had extended the tenure of all the judicial commission of inquiries.

Out of nine, reports of four panels have been laid before Odisha Assembly following extensions. Similarly, the reports on four incidents are under examination.
