With an aim to provide comfortable journey to the commuters and to avoid the rush in regular trains, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to run Shatabdi and Jan Shatabdi Express trains daily instead of earlier six days in a week.
Shatabdi Express on Wednesdays and Jan Shatabdi Express on Sundays will run as Special Trains until June 1 and May 29 respectively, said an ECoR release.
The 02278 Puri-Howrah Shatabdi Special train will leave Puri at 0545hrs on every Wednesday and will reach Howrah at 1340hrs on the same day. In the return direction, 02277 Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Special train will leave Howrah at 1425hrs on every Wednesday and will arrive at Puri at 2200hrs on the same day.
Similarly, the 02074 Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Special train will leave Bhubaneswar at 0600hrs on every Sunday and will reach at Howrah at 1240hrs on the same day from May 8 to May 29. In the return direction, 2073 Howrah-Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Special train will leave Howrah at 1325hrs on every Sunday and will arrive at Bhubaneswar at 2010hrs on the same day during the period.
