Hot water thrown at toddler: Anganwadi worker, helper sacked in Odisha

Sonepur: Taking stringent action for alleged inhuman act at an Anganwadi centre at Jatiapalli village, the Sonepur district administration dismissed an Anganwadi worker and helper for throwing hot water at a toddler.

The supervisor of the concerned Anganwadi centre was also placed under suspension for the incident, which was reported on May 14.

According to reports, a three-year-old girl, daughter of Panchanan Mahakud of Jatiapalli village, sustained burn injuries after an Anganwadi worker poured hot water on her. On receiving information about the incident, her parents rushed to the Anganwadi centre and found her in critical condition.
