2 labourers killed in lightning strike in Odisha

Sundargarh: Lightning strike claimed lives of two labourers at Lodsera village under Kuarmunda police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district today.

The deceased have been identified as Bheem Kerketa (20) of Ekama area in the district and Vineet Dungdung (20) of Jharkhand.

According to reports, the two were engaged in the construction of a bridge in the village. They had gone to a tubewell to fetch water when lightning struck leaving them unconscious.

They were rescued by coworkers and rushed to Kuarmunda hospital, where a doctor declared the two dead. Police have recovered the bodies and registered an unnatural death case.
