After Delhi, Odisha youth to launch Padayatra to Pakistan

Rourkela: Odisha youth Muktikant Biswal, who was in headlines last year for placing his demands for Steel City Rourkela by walking over 1300 km to New Delhi, will again launch Padayatra soon, but to a neighbouring country.

This time, Muktikant will walk over miles to Pakistan from Rourkela for a cause.

“I will be on a walking tour to Pakistan very soon with a purpose of retaining fraternity and brotherhood between two nations,” informed Muktikant to a presser on Wednesday.

Amidst high tension between India and Pakistan following scrapping of Article 370, establishing peace reportedly is the only goal behind ‘Mission Pakistan’ during his upcoming months long ‘Sadbhavna Padayatara’.

Muktikant will begin journey on foot from Rourkela to Islamabad via Jharkhand-Bihar-Uttar Pradesh-Delhi-Haryana-Punjab and Attari-Wagah border. He will cover a distance of around 3200 km during six months.

Last year on April 16, the youth had launched Padayatra to Delhi demanding second ROB over Brahmani River and upgradation of IGH in Rourkela. He had covered a distance of 1350 km and reached the national capital on June 27 to remind Prime Minister Narendra Modi of promises made to public of his hometown during 2014 elections.

However, his unique attempt could be termed as ‘unsuccessful’ as he was not allowed to meet Modi and he had to return to Odisha with empty hands.
